Graphic design is largely about conveying the clients vision in the most fitting and accessible way. In our case this often means including illustrations or collages to make the result both intriguing and appealing. Sometimes served with a bit of humor on the side.
With a mix of electronic and art music, PUSH is a cozy festival with equal parts of arty and party. The association behind the festival used to be called Lamour, which of course resulted in us making a mascot in the shape of a lemur (Lamour, lemur… get it?). Nowadays the association is called PUSH as well, but the lemur has worked its way into everyones heart and remains. We also provide the festival with website, posters, flyers, programs and more, which results in a substantial presence on social media as well as in traditional channels.
THE GAFFEL KRYSS-MAS
Each December the Gaffel Association invites its artist members to take part in a web based Christmas calendar. Every day a new artwork is presented on the website and in the local newspaper. We have the privilege of designing the framework and the calendar itself. As each artist has a unique style, we went with a design that is fun enough to be an exciting calendar on the front page, but doesn't clash with the art inside. The colour changes every year, below are the colours of 2017 and 2018.
How do you illustrate sound? Working with the music scene, this is a question we often ask ourselves. For Vindöga we wanted something minimalistic and angular, but also meditative. The result was a mix of geometry and soft color gradients, and with photos of the ”tools of the trade” as a nice detail.
Vindöga is an art music festival, produced by FIA and Kulturcentrum. Shown here are the graphic profiles for 2015-2017, which included poster, program and promotion materials.
X ART STOP
Art on the road! Or rather; on the rail. X Art Stop is an annual art festival arranged by Gaffel in villages along the local commuter line. Every year a new village is selected as venue for the festival, where local enthusiasts and artists from the region meet to make place specific art. In 2016 the festival took place in Kilafors.
We wanted the posters and the overall graphic profile to reflect the way Gaffel works, with a positive energy and an inclination towards the analogue, the handmade, and the reuse of materials. Collages and bold texts with a hint of retro seemed a perfect fit. We also made a very minimalistic documentation page, designed to focus on the photos of the art itself.
